One of the greatest Russian composers, pianists and conductors, Rachmaninov rose to the international stardom with his famous Prelude in C-sharp Minor that he composed at the age of 19. Already regarded as the world’s greatest modern pianist, Rachmaninov and his family left Russia immediately after the revolution. Rachmaninov’s triumphal concert career as a piano virtuoso and conductor took him to all music capitals of the world. A prolific composer, Rachmaninov wrote operas, orchestral works and hundreds of piano compositions and songs – all of them became an integral part of the repertoire of the modern musicians.
